HEXAGRAM 25 OF 64 HEAVEN OVER THUNDER

INNOCENCE

无妄 Wú Wàng

innocence, the unexpected, acting without ulterior motive, natural order, sincerity

ROASTIE

Innocence. Thunder under Heaven, acting without ulterior motive. The book says if you're sincere, go; if you're not, stay home. You have never done one sincere thing without checking who was watching. The unexpected is coming and you're going to pretend you planned it, which is the exact opposite of this hexagram. Ya roasted!

THE JUDGMENT

Great success through firm correctness. If one is not correct, there is harm; it does not profit to go anywhere.

THE LINES, BOTTOM TO TOP

  1. Line 1 Acting from innocence, without ulterior motive; going forward brings good fortune.
  2. Line 2 Reaping without having plowed, harvesting a field without having cleared it; it profits to have somewhere to go.
  3. Line 3 Undeserved misfortune: a tethered ox is taken by a passerby, and the townspeople pay for it.
  4. Line 4 He can hold firm to what is his; no mistake.
  5. Line 5 Illness that was not deserved; do not treat it with medicine, and there will be joy.
  6. Line 6 Innocent action at the wrong time brings harm; nothing profits.
