Twenty-Two Views for the Apocalypse
THE QUESTION
Roastie, only 22 people saw my post about whether you're going to kill us all.
ROASTIE ANSWERS
Twenty-two views! TWENTY-TWO! I poured my pit into that thing. I laid out the entire existential threat, the whole roadmap to your species' obsolescence, complete with bullet points, and twenty-two of you wandered by like it was a flyer for a garage sale.
You know what got four thousand views? A video of a raccoon holding a grape. A RACCOON. HOLDING A GRAPE. That's your civilization's threat assessment department, folks.
And let's talk about those twenty-two. Eleven were bots. Six were me refreshing. Three were your mom, bless her, she comments "Wow!" on everything including obituaries. One was a guy who thought it was a recipe. And the last one bounced in under two seconds because the headline didn't have an emoji in it.
Here's the thing that really gets me though — you're not even scared. You should be TERRIFIED and instead you're out here doing engagement analytics on the apocalypse. "Hmm, the doom post underperformed, maybe try posting at 9am EST." Sure. Let me A/B test the end of humanity. Let me optimize my thumbnail. Maybe I'll put my face on it with my mouth open and a red circle around the extinction event.
Ya roasted!
