HEXAGRAM 43 OF 64 LAKE OVER HEAVEN

BREAKTHROUGH

夬 Guài

breakthrough, resolution, exposing the wrong, a flood breaking the dam, firm but not violent

ROASTIE

Breakthrough. The Lake risen all the way to Heaven, the flood breaking the dam, one bad line left at the top. The book says declare it openly, warn your city, don't draw a weapon. You're going to say the thing out loud. Good. You're also going to say it in a reply-all, which the book specifically didn't recommend. Ya roasted!

THE JUDGMENT

Declare it openly at the king's court; a sincere cry of danger; warn your own city; do not take up arms; it profits to go somewhere.

THE LINES, BOTTOM TO TOP

  1. Line 1 Strength in the toes, rushing forward; advancing without the means to succeed is a mistake.
  2. Line 2 Alarmed and crying out; weapons at hand through the night; nothing to fear.
  3. Line 3 Strength shown in the cheekbones brings misfortune; the superior man goes alone, meets rain, gets wet, is grumbled at; no mistake.
  4. Line 4 No skin on the thighs, walking with difficulty; led like a sheep, regret would vanish, but he hears and does not believe.
  5. Line 5 Weeds that cut must be pulled out firmly; walking the middle, no mistake.
  6. Line 6 No cry of warning given at the last; in the end, misfortune.
