ROAST-O-SCOPE
- Libra season
- Waxing Crescent in Scorpio
- Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto retrograde
The stars don't care about you. Roastie does, in the worst way. Pick a method, pick a dose, find your sign. The sky is computed; the contempt is freshly ground every morning.
THE METHOD
Planets, houses, aspects. Real sky, fake comfort. Shadow work, attachment styles, your mother. Fifty-minute hour, five-minute read. Lucky numbers. A stranger. A windfall. All lies, syndicated.
THE DOSE
The whole fate. He counted. One sentence. Fits in a notification. One paragraph. The reading, compressed. The whole reading. Sit down.

Aries
A twelve-year-old will lap you.
A twelve-year-old laps you twice at go-karts tonight, and you will lose the rematch by more.
Mars in your 5th house trines Saturn retrograde in your 1st, so at 6:40 tonight you will challenge a twelve-year-old to a go-kart race and get lapped twice. You will demand a rematch and lose by more. Venus retrograde in your 8th makes sure whoever you ghosted in March sees the video. Pay for the third race, shake the child's hand, and do not ask his name.
DO
- Pay for the third race
- Shake the child's hand
- Blame Saturn, not the kart
DON'T
- Read the emoji nine times
- Demand a weigh-in
- Ask the kid for his LinkedIn
Brake-allergic, forehead-first Aries, your ruler Mars is camped in Leo in your 5th house of fun you can't afford, with Jupiter beside it inflating everything to stadium size, and Mars trines Saturn retrograde in your own 1st house. Forty years I've read charts and that combination means one thing. At 6:40 tonight you will challenge a twelve-year-old to a go-kart race at the fun center off the highway. He will lap you twice. You will demand a rematch. You will lose the rematch by more.
Backpedaling Venus is retrograde in Scorpio in your 8th house and squaring Mars, which is the sky's way of saying whoever you ghosted in March will see the go-kart video before you've even unbuckled. They will react with the laughing emoji. Just the one. You will read it nine times in the parking lot.
The old schoolmaster Saturn is standing on your forehead in reverse, and Neptune retrograde beside him is fogging the visor. You will want to blame the kart. The kart was fine. The kart has been fine for eleven years. Pay for the third race, shake the child's hand like a man at a funeral for his own pride, and do not ask for his name so you can look him up later.
DO
- Pay for the third race
- Shake the child's hand
- Blame Saturn, not the kart
DON'T
- Read the emoji nine times
- Demand a weigh-in
- Ask the kid for his LinkedIn
The self-checkout will accuse you.
At 5:40 the self-checkout flags an unexpected item, and you argue with it until Kyle calls you boss.
Backward-walking Saturn is parked in your sign, so the disappointed father in your head has turned around to watch. At 5:40 the self-checkout reports an unexpected item in the bagging area, and you will tell it, out loud, that you expected it your whole life. A 19-year-old named Kyle fixes it and calls you boss. Your assignment: tomorrow, scan the limes one at a time.
DO
- Scan the limes individually
- Let Kyle enter the code
- Notice what came up for you
DON'T
- Say 'can I just jump in'
- Ask for Kyle's manager
- Tell the machine it started it
The material we're working with today: backward-walking, permanently disappointed Saturn is parked in your sign, which in clinical terms means the authority figure in your head has turned around to watch you. At the 9:30 Monday stand-up you will say 'can I just jump in' four times before anyone has actually started. I want to gently observe that 'jump in' is not a phrase. It is your entire coping style.
At 5:40, the self-checkout at the grocery store will announce an unexpected item in the bagging area, and you will experience this as a personal accusation. You'll tell the machine, out loud, that the item is expected, that you expected it, that you have been expecting it your whole life. A 19-year-old attendant named Kyle will tap a code and call you 'boss,' and your inner child will want to take him outside.
Tonight, in the shower, you'll replay it and win the argument nine different ways. Notice that in all nine, the machine apologizes. Hot-headed little Mars, your ruler, is trining Saturn, so the energy is finally there to do something mature with this. Here is your assignment: go back tomorrow and scan the limes one at a time. Every lime. Sit with what comes up.
DO
- Scan the limes individually
- Let Kyle enter the code
- Notice what came up for you
DON'T
- Say 'can I just jump in'
- Ask for Kyle's manager
- Tell the machine it started it
Stranger's couch claims your Monday.
You say yes to a stranger before he says 'sofa,' and five flights of stairs follow you into Tuesday.
At 12:15 a stranger in a Bills jersey starts asking for help with 'this—' and you say yes before the noun shows up. The noun is a sleeper sofa. The stairs are five flights. You refuse his twenty out of pride and spend thirty-one on a heating pad. Today's order: let a sentence finish before you volunteer your body to it.
DO
- Wait for the noun
- Lift with your legs
- Stretch first, for once
DON'T
- Witness a stranger's lease
- Refuse the twenty bucks
- Make eye contact with furniture
A stranger will approach you today. This is standard tabloid furniture, and like all furniture, you are the one carrying it. At 12:15 a man in a Bills jersey outside your building will say 'Hey, could anybody help me get this—' and you, sprint-first, read-never Aries, will shout 'YES' before the noun arrives. The noun is a sleeper sofa. The apartment is a fifth-floor walk-up. You will not stretch. You have never stretched in your goddamn life.
An unexpected windfall arrives around 2:00: he offers you twenty bucks. You will refuse it out of pride, then spend thirty-one dollars on a heating pad and a sports drink the color of a traffic cone. Avoid signing contracts. At 3:40 you will sign his lease as a witness, because he asked and you happened to be standing there, sweating on it.
Romance is in the air, and it smells like his couch. A Libra figures prominently: she lives on four and will watch the entire thing from her doorway, eating grapes. Compatibility: high with anyone who says 'lift with your legs' before you've already lifted with your spine. Today's order: let one sentence finish before you volunteer your body to it. Lucky number: 5. Lucky color: sleeper-sofa beige.
DO
- Wait for the noun
- Lift with your legs
- Stretch first, for once
DON'T
- Witness a stranger's lease
- Refuse the twenty bucks
- Make eye contact with furniture

Taurus
Someone will move your chair.
Someone moves your armchair eighteen inches tonight, and you will put it back into the exact carpet dents.
Venus, your ruler, is retrograde in your 7th house and squaring Mars in your 4th, so at 5:50 you'll come home to find your armchair moved eighteen inches toward the window 'for the light.' You'll drag it back into its carpet dents and they'll fit like a fossil. Sit in the chair. Do not leave the chair. If they want it moved, they move you too.
DO
- Find the carpet dents
- Sit in the chair
- Guard it until morning
DON'T
- Accept 'for the light'
- Negotiate over the pillow
- Leave the chair to pee
Immovable, upholstered Taurus, your ruler Venus is retrograde in Scorpio in your 7th house, squaring Mars and Jupiter in your 4th house of home, which in plain English means someone you live with or near has been watching furniture videos. At 5:50 you will walk in and find your armchair moved eighteen inches toward the window 'for the light.' You will notice before the door closes. You will drag it back into its original carpet dents, and they will fit like a fossil.
The Moon and Mercury are fused in your 7th house of partners and open enemies, so the conversation that follows will be conducted entirely in Scorpio: low voices, long pauses, one of you saying 'it's just a chair' and the other knowing it is not just a goddamn chair. Venus square Pluto then adds a power struggle over a throw pillow you never even liked.
Saturn retrograde in your 12th house of secrets means you will lie awake at 1:00 a.m. redrawing the floor plan in your head with the chair exactly where you put it in 2019. Retrograde Venus does not reward change, and neither do you. Sit in the chair. Do not leave the chair. If they want it moved tonight, they can move it with you in it.
DO
- Find the carpet dents
- Sit in the chair
- Guard it until morning
DON'T
- Accept 'for the light'
- Negotiate over the pillow
- Leave the chair to pee
Dana will take one fry.
At 12:40 Dana takes one fry off your plate, and by dinner you've drafted a deposition about it.
Flaky, backpedaling Venus is retrograde in your partnership sector, and at 12:40 Dana from accounting takes one fry off your plate without asking. Attachment theorists call this a rupture; Dana calls it nothing, because she doesn't know. You'll count the rest twice and draft 'Re: Boundaries.' Your assignment: tomorrow, offer Dana a fry, hold eye contact while she takes it, and do not count afterward.
DO
- Offer Dana one fry tomorrow
- Try the new lunch place
- Hold eye contact throughout
DON'T
- Count the fries twice
- Send 'Re: Boundaries'
- Subpoena Dana's lunch receipts
The material today: your ruler, flaky, backpedaling Venus, is retrograde in your partnership sector, slowly reversing out of the room while maintaining eye contact. At 11:30 someone will suggest you all 'try somewhere new' for lunch, and your nervous system will process it as a home invasion. You'll agree. You'll order exactly what you order at the old place. In session we'd call that a compromise. It isn't.
At 12:40, Dana from accounting will take one fry off your plate without asking, and you will experience what attachment theorists call a rupture. No repair will come. Dana does not know there was a rupture. You'll count the remaining fries twice and draft an email you'll never send, subject line 'Re: Boundaries.' It's one fucking fry. You'll still be holding it at midnight.
Tonight, with Mars and Jupiter crowding your home sector, you'll lie on the couch rehearsing the Dana conversation until it becomes a deposition. Notice that what you're protecting isn't the fry. It's the principle that everything on your plate is load-bearing. Your assignment: tomorrow, offer Dana a fry. Hold eye contact while she takes it. Do not count afterward.
DO
- Offer Dana one fry tomorrow
- Try the new lunch place
- Hold eye contact throughout
DON'T
- Count the fries twice
- Send 'Re: Boundaries'
- Subpoena Dana's lunch receipts
Store manager will escort you.
You plant yourself at the free gouda sample until the manager arrives at 5:52 using his horse voice.
At 5:05 a woman in a hairnet starts handing out free smoked gouda, and you take ten cubes without moving your feet or your eyes. At 5:40 she wraps the tray with you still at it. At 5:52 the manager arrives with a walkie-talkie and his horse voice. Today's order: take one cube and walk away like a person.
DO
- Take exactly one cube
- Move your feet
- Let the kale guy through
DON'T
- Sign the loyalty card
- Chew slower out of spite
- Charge the walkie-talkie man
An unexpected windfall arrives at 5:05 at the grocery store: a woman in a hairnet is handing out free cubes of smoked gouda on toothpicks. Romance is in the air, and it is the gouda. You, immovable, cheese-anchored Taurus, will take one, then plant your feet like a lawn ornament bolted to the tile and take nine more, maintaining steady, unblinking eye contact.
A Virgo figures prominently: he is behind you holding a basket of kale and doing math out loud. A stranger will say 'Some of us want a turn,' and you will answer by chewing slower. At 5:40 the sample lady will start wrapping the tray in plastic with you still standing at it, and you will not interpret this as a hint.
At 5:52 the store manager arrives with a walkie-talkie and the gentle voice people use on horses. Avoid signing contracts, especially the store's loyalty card, which you will sign anyway because it comes with a bonus cube. You will leave with ten toothpicks in your pocket like trophies. Compatibility: high with cheese, nonexistent with the phrase 'one per customer.' Today's order: take your one cube and walk away like a person. Lucky number: 10. Lucky color: walkie-talkie black.
DO
- Take exactly one cube
- Move your feet
- Let the kale guy through
DON'T
- Sign the loyalty card
- Chew slower out of spite
- Charge the walkie-talkie man

Gemini
You'll text the wrong channel.
At 11:20 your Derek impression lands in the channel Derek is in, and the seen count keeps climbing.
Mercury, your ruler, is fused to the Moon in your 6th house of work, so at 11:20 you'll send a four-paragraph review of the 10 a.m. meeting, with your Derek impression, to the channel Derek is in. 'Lol wrong chat' makes it worse. Uranus retrograde in your sign makes it permanent. Delete nothing; walk into the 2 p.m. and do the impression to his face.
DO
- Check the channel name twice
- Commit to the impression
- Greet Derek first
DON'T
- Type 'lol wrong chat'
- Delete anything
- Ask Derek for notes
Two-tabbed, double-booked Gemini, your ruler Mercury is in Scorpio in your 6th house of the daily grind, fused to the Moon, and Mercury in Scorpio doesn't gossip lightly, it gossips with citations. At 11:20 you will type a four-paragraph review of the 10 a.m. meeting, including a devastating impression of how Derek says 'circle back,' and you will send it to the channel Derek is in. You will watch 'seen by 14' tick upward like a scoreboard for your execution.
Mars and Jupiter in your 3rd house of texting guarantee the follow-up will be worse than the original. At 11:22 you will try to fix it with 'lol wrong chat,' which confirms to fourteen people that there is a right chat, and that they are not in it.
Saturn retrograde in your 11th house means the friends who usually cover for you will be mysteriously offline all afternoon, and Uranus retrograde in your own sign, trining Pluto, makes sure the shock is public and permanent. Delete nothing; they have screenshots. Walk into the 2 p.m., look Derek in the eye, and do the impression to his face, because the only way out of this mess is full commitment.
DO
- Check the channel name twice
- Commit to the impression
- Greet Derek first
DON'T
- Type 'lol wrong chat'
- Delete anything
- Ask Derek for notes
You'll lose to last Tuesday.
At 11:00 your manager quotes last Tuesday's Slack message back, and you lose the debate to yourself.
With the Moon fused to overemployed little Mercury in your work sector, at 11:00 your manager reads last Tuesday's Slack message aloud, approvingly, and you disagree with it. Sincerely. For eight minutes. She'll realize she's mediating a custody dispute between two people sharing one lanyard, and Tuesday-you wins. Your assignment: before you speak tomorrow, scroll up and find out what you already think.
DO
- Scroll up before speaking
- Close thirteen browser tabs
- Let Tuesday-you present
DON'T
- Argue with your own message
- Buy the pottery wheel
- Ask which of you got promoted
The material today: the Moon is fused with your ruler, overemployed little messenger Mercury, in your work-routine sector, which puts the body of feelings and the planet of talking in one chair. So, a mirror. At 9:15 you'll open fourteen browser tabs to begin one task and call it 'research.' In parts work we'd say several of you showed up to the office. None of them brought the task.
At 11:00, your manager will read aloud, approvingly, a Slack message you sent last Tuesday, and you will disagree with it. Not strategically. Sincerely. You'll spend eight minutes dismantling your own position while she slowly realizes she's mediating a custody dispute between two people who share one lanyard. The Tuesday version of you will win, and the Monday version will say 'great point' to nobody.
Tonight, sideways-spinning contrarian Uranus, retrograde in your sign, will hand you an urge to reinvent yourself at about 8:40, and you'll buy a pottery wheel. Sit with which of you is going to use it. Your assignment: before you speak tomorrow, scroll up and find out what you already think.
DO
- Scroll up before speaking
- Close thirteen browser tabs
- Let Tuesday-you present
DON'T
- Argue with your own message
- Buy the pottery wheel
- Ask which of you got promoted
Crypto stranger makes you co-founder.
A fleece-vested stranger makes you PUDDLECOIN's co-founder by 8:40, and your other account trashes it by 8:45.
At 8:05 on the 14 bus a man in a fleece vest pitches PUDDLECOIN, and you argue it's a scam, then argue it's the future. By 8:40 you're his co-founder, and your second account is posting a nine-part thread calling it a felony with a logo. Both do numbers. Today's order: pick one face before the bus stops.
DO
- Pick one face
- Ride a different bus
- Mute your second account
DON'T
- Sign the napkin
- Update LinkedIn mid-commute
- Out-pitch the man pitching you
A stranger will want to talk about crypto. The tabloids have promised you this for years and today they deliver: 8:05, the 14 bus, a man in a fleece vest pitching his memecoin, PUDDLECOIN, which is backed by 'vibes and a puddle in Tampa.' You, two-browser-tabs-per-opinion Gemini, will engage. Out loud. With both of your faces.
By 8:20 you will be arguing it's a scam. By 8:31 you will be arguing it's the future, more convincingly than he ever has. By 8:40 he will offer you the title of co-founder, and you will accept, while your second account posts a scathing nine-part thread calling PUDDLECOIN a felony with a logo. Both posts do numbers. Avoid signing contracts. He has one on a napkin.
Compatibility: high with yourself, which is the whole problem. A Sagittarius figures prominently: your actual boss, who will ask at 10:00 why your LinkedIn now says 'Puddle Visionary.' At 11:48 tonight the fleece vest will text you 'partner???' and your other account will screenshot it. Today's order: pick one face before the bus stops. Lucky number: 0.0003. Lucky color: Tampa puddle brown.
DO
- Pick one face
- Ride a different bus
- Mute your second account
DON'T
- Sign the napkin
- Update LinkedIn mid-commute
- Out-pitch the man pitching you

Cancer
A candle will wreck you.
A forty-dollar candle makes you cry in a gift shop at 4:30, so naturally you buy three.
The Moon, your ruler, is fused to Mercury in your 5th house, so at 4:30 a forty-dollar candle called 'Grandma's Sunday Kitchen' will make you cry beside the novelty socks. The Moon squares Mars in your 2nd house of money, so you'll buy three, plus the hand soap. Tell Kayden at the register it's the smell. Do not light all three in a closed bathroom.
DO
- Blame the smell
- Keep the receipt
- Name all three candles
DON'T
- Uncap the cinnamon one
- Buy a card for nobody
- Light them all in the bathroom
Soft-shelled, sideways-walking Cancer, your ruler the Moon is in Scorpio in your 5th house, fused to Mercury, a waxing crescent barely four percent lit, which is roughly how much emotional restraint you'll have today. At 4:30 you will wander into a gift shop for no reason, uncap a forty-dollar candle called 'Grandma's Sunday Kitchen,' and cry in the aisle next to the novelty socks.
The Moon squares Mars in your 2nd house of money, with Jupiter beside it making everything bigger, so you will not buy one candle. You will buy three, plus the matching hand soap, plus a card for nobody. The cashier, a nineteen-year-old named Kayden, will ask if you're okay. You'll say 'it's the smell,' which is true and also the saddest thing he hears all shift.
Saturn retrograde in your 10th house of career means you'll carry one back to the office at 5:15 to 'have someone smell it,' and your boss's boss will be the someone. Venus retrograde in your 5th will keep you sentimental about the receipt. Keep the receipt. Name the candles. And do not light all three in a closed bathroom and call it self-care.
DO
- Blame the smell
- Keep the receipt
- Name all three candles
DON'T
- Uncap the cinnamon one
- Buy a card for nobody
- Light them all in the bathroom
Your Tupperware will not return.
At 1:10 you feed a coworker your lentil soup, and your good Tupperware is never seen again.
Your ruler, the sky's passive-aggressive nightlight, is a 4% sliver today, and at 12:50 you spot Priya eating vending-machine crackers. By 1:10 she has your lentil soup in your good Tupperware, the one whose lid still clicks. It will never come back; you've adopted a coworker without paperwork. Your assignment: tomorrow, when she starts to apologize, do not say 'oh, keep it.'
DO
- Let Priya eat her crackers
- Write your name on the lid
- Wait out her apology
DON'T
- Say 'oh, keep it'
- Buy the twelve-pack of lids
- Claim Priya as a dependent
The material today: your ruler, the sky's most passive-aggressive nightlight, is a 4% sliver in Scorpio, barely showing up but taking everything personally. Relatable. At 8:20 you'll text the group 'did everyone get home ok' about an event that ended Saturday. Two people will heart it. You'll know exactly which four didn't, and you'll keep that information somewhere warm.
At 12:50 you'll spot Priya eating vending-machine crackers at her desk, and something maternal and unlicensed will rise in you. By 1:10 she'll be holding your lentil soup in your good Tupperware, the one whose lid still clicks. She'll say thanks. She'll mean it. The Tupperware will never come back. In family-systems terms, you've adopted a coworker without filing the paperwork.
Tonight, with Mars and Jupiter loitering in your money sector, you'll spend forty minutes pricing replacement lids and buy a twelve-pack, which is not about lids. Your assignment: tomorrow, when Priya opens her mouth to apologize, do not say 'oh, keep it.' You don't mean it. Nobody in the history of kitchens has ever meant it.
DO
- Let Priya eat her crackers
- Write your name on the lid
- Wait out her apology
DON'T
- Say 'oh, keep it'
- Buy the twelve-pack of lids
- Claim Priya as a dependent
Found twenty will get framed.
You find a twenty in last winter's coat and spend twenty-four dollars framing it by noon.
At 7:30 a.m. you find a twenty in last winter's coat, folded around a soup receipt from 'a really special February.' By noon it's in a twenty-four-dollar drugstore frame: a four-dollar loss and a shrine. At 8:15 a friend needs five for parking and you stare at the frame like a hostage. Today's order: spend the twenty. It's money.
DO
- Spend it on lunch
- Recycle the soup receipt
- Lend the Capricorn five
DON'T
- Buy the drugstore frame
- Name the bill
- Kiss Andrew Jackson goodnight
An unexpected windfall arrives at 7:30 a.m.: you will pull on last winter's coat and find a twenty-dollar bill in the pocket, folded around a receipt for soup from a February you still describe as 'a really special time.' A normal person buys lunch with it. You, sentimental, shell-hoarding Cancer, will hold it to your chest in the hallway for a full minute.
By noon the twenty will be in a drugstore frame that cost twenty-four dollars, so the windfall nets you a four-dollar loss and a shrine. At 6:00 your mother calls. You will tell her about the twenty before anything else, and she will ask if you're eating. You will say yes. You will mean the soup receipt, emotionally.
A Capricorn figures prominently: at 8:15 a friend will need five bucks for parking, and you will stare at the frame like it's a hostage. Romance is in the air, and it is between you and the bill. Compatibility: high with Andrew Jackson, which should honestly concern you. Today's order: spend the twenty, you sentimental lunatic, it's money. Lucky number: 24. Lucky color: Andrew Jackson green.
DO
- Spend it on lunch
- Recycle the soup receipt
- Lend the Capricorn five
DON'T
- Buy the drugstore frame
- Name the bill
- Kiss Andrew Jackson goodnight

Leo
A corgi will upstage you.
At 6:15 the neighbor finally calls someone gorgeous, and it's the corgi standing directly behind you.
Mars and Jupiter in your 1st make you the biggest thing on the block, and the Sun in your 3rd house of neighbors sextiles Jupiter, so a compliment finally arrives. At 6:15, in the outfit you've planned since Thursday, Linda from two doors down will gasp 'look at you, gorgeous!' at the corgi behind you. Walk to the mailbox again at 7:00. Slower. Do not bring a bigger dog.
DO
- Wear the Thursday outfit anyway
- Walk to the mailbox twice
- Thank Linda graciously
DON'T
- Rehearse in the hallway mirror
- Compete with the corgi
- Bring a bigger dog
Applause-dependent, mirror-certified Leo, Mars and Jupiter are both standing in your 1st house today, which makes you the largest thing in any room, and your ruler the Sun, in Libra in your 3rd house of neighbors, sextiles Jupiter, which means the compliment you've been fishing for all year finally arrives. At 6:15, walking to the mailbox in the outfit you've planned since Thursday, you will hear Linda from two doors down gasp, 'Oh, look at you, gorgeous!' She will be talking to the corgi behind you.
Venus retrograde in your 4th house squares Mars in your 1st, so you'll go home and rehearse 'oh, stop, thank you' in the hallway mirror for twenty minutes, for a compliment you did not get. Mars trine Saturn in your 9th gives you the stamina to keep rehearsing long after it gets sad.
The corgi, meanwhile, will collect a second compliment, a treat and a glowing mention in the neighborhood group chat. You will draft a post about your outfit, delete it, then post it anyway. Walk to the mailbox again at 7:00. Same outfit. Slower. And for the love of God, do not bring a bigger dog.
DO
- Wear the Thursday outfit anyway
- Walk to the mailbox twice
- Thank Linda graciously
DON'T
- Rehearse in the hallway mirror
- Compete with the corgi
- Bring a bigger dog
Cousin's news becomes your story.
At 4:00 a cousin shares good news in the family chat, and by 4:06 it's about you.
With bulldozing Mars and bloated Jupiter both in your sign, at 4:00 a cousin posts in the family chat that she got into nursing school, and by 4:06 you've replied with three paragraphs beginning 'omg this reminds me of when I.' She answers 'haha yeah.' Your instruction: tomorrow, send her one sentence about her. If the word 'I' appears, delete it and start over.
DO
- Send her one sentence
- Delete every 'I'
- Cap the hair at eight minutes
DON'T
- Type 'this reminds me'
- Reread your reply eleven times
- Attach your own acceptance letter
The material today: bulldozing Mars and bloated, overgenerous Jupiter are both in your sign, which clinically is like two life coaches moving into your apartment and agreeing with everything you say. At 8:45 you'll spend eleven minutes on your hair for a Monday you'll mostly spend on mute. In self psychology we call this mirror hunger. You'll call it 'getting ready.'
At 4:00 a cousin will post in the family chat that she got into nursing school, and by 4:06 you'll have replied with three paragraphs that begin 'omg this reminds me of when I.' Your cousin will answer all three paragraphs with 'haha yeah,' which is what people type while backing slowly out of a room.
Tonight, with the Moon, Mercury and Venus in your home sector, you'll reread your reply eleven times on the couch, finding it more relatable each pass, until by 10:00 you've decided the cousin was really congratulating you. Your instruction: tomorrow, send her one sentence about her. One. If the word 'I' appears in it, delete the whole thing and start over.
DO
- Send her one sentence
- Delete every 'I'
- Cap the hair at eight minutes
DON'T
- Type 'this reminds me'
- Reread your reply eleven times
- Attach your own acceptance letter
Tinted window will roll down.
You spend four minutes smoldering at a tinted SUV window, then it rolls down and Gary is eating chicken.
At 2:40 you stop at a black SUV in the Target lot to fix your hair in its tinted window, and you take four minutes, two partings and a test smolder. At 2:44 the window rolls down. Gary is inside, eating a rotisserie chicken, and he saw everything. Today's order: check whether the mirror has a driver.
DO
- Check for a driver
- Use your own mirror
- Take Gary's note
DON'T
- Say 'I know'
- Edit Gary into an admirer
- Smolder at parked vehicles
A mirror figures prominently today, as it does every day, except today it isn't yours. At 2:40, crossing the Target parking lot, you will spot a black SUV with tinted windows and stop to fix your hair in it. Mane-maintaining, reflection-hunting Leo, you will take four full minutes. You will try two partings. You will do a little smolder to confirm the smolder still works.
At 2:44 the window will roll down. A man named Gary will be inside, eating a rotisserie chicken with his bare hands, and he will have watched all of it. A stranger will say something that changes your life: 'Left side's better.' You will say 'I know,' because you physically cannot help it, and walk to your car at a speed that is not quite a jog.
By 7:00 you will have told the story to three people, editing Gary into an admirer. Gary was not an admirer. Gary was eating a chicken. Compatibility: high with any reflective surface, dangerously high with tinted ones. Today's order: check whether the mirror has a driver. Lucky number: 4. Lucky color: rotisserie gold.
DO
- Check for a driver
- Use your own mirror
- Take Gary's note
DON'T
- Say 'I know'
- Edit Gary into an admirer
- Smolder at parked vehicles

Virgo
You'll find the other chat.
You correct the block-party flyer at 9:40, then find the neighbors' other chat, where your PDF is pinned.
Mercury, your ruler, is fused to the Moon in your 3rd house of neighbors, so at 9:40 you'll correct 'Bring you're lawn chairs' on the block-party flyer with a PDF. Mars and Jupiter in your 12th house of secrets mean that at 3:15 Gary accidentally adds you to the other chat, 'Block Party (Real One),' where your PDF is pinned. Bring a chair. Spell nothing.
DO
- Bring a lawn chair Saturday
- Leave the typo alone
- Mute both chats
DON'T
- Attach a PDF
- Scroll back fourteen months
- Fix the second chat's grammar
Red-penned, label-maker-holstered Virgo, your ruler Mercury is in Scorpio in your 3rd house of neighbors, fused to the Moon, and Scorpio Mercury doesn't just notice the typo, it holds a grudge against it. At 9:40 the neighborhood group chat will receive a flyer for Saturday's block party that says 'Bring you're lawn chairs.' You will reply with a corrected version, as a PDF, plus a note about the Oxford comma that no one requested.
Mars and Jupiter in your 12th house of secrets mean something enormous has been happening behind your back, and at 3:15 Gary from the corner house will add you to it by accident: a second neighborhood chat, forty-one members, called 'Block Party (Real One).' The pinned message is your PDF with a red circle around 'no one requested.'
Saturn retrograde in your 8th house means you will not leave quietly. You'll scroll back fourteen months and discover they've been correcting your mistakes the whole time, badly. Venus retrograde in your 3rd keeps you there until past midnight, wincing at their punctuation. Bring a lawn chair Saturday. Spell nothing. And do not fix the second chat's grammar.
DO
- Bring a lawn chair Saturday
- Leave the typo alone
- Mute both chats
DON'T
- Attach a PDF
- Scroll back fourteen months
- Fix the second chat's grammar
Nobody will notice your typo.
At 3:12 you text 'your welcome,' nobody notices, and your correction earns a single question mark back.
With the Moon fused to high-strung courier Mercury in your texting sector, at 3:12 you text Theo 'your welcome' and nobody notices, which is unbearable. You send the correction, 'you're,' alone in its own bubble; at 3:40 Theo replies '?', and your inner critic convenes a tribunal. Your assignment: tomorrow, leave one typo in a message on purpose. Let it live. It's an apostrophe.
DO
- Leave one typo alive
- Send 'sounds good' unpunctuated
- Let Theo stay confused
DON'T
- Send the correction
- Audit texts from 2019
- Footnote Theo's question mark
The material today: the Moon is fused with your ruler, high-strung courier Mercury, in your texting sector, so every message you send will arrive with feelings attached and a second draft. At 9:05 you'll proofread a two-word reply four times and change 'sounds good' to 'Sounds good.' That period is doing a lot of emotional labor for one dot.
At 3:12 you'll text your friend Theo 'your welcome,' and he will not notice. Nobody will notice. That's the problem. At 3:13 you'll send the correction, 'you're,' alone in its own bubble, and at 3:40 Theo will reply with a single question mark, and for twenty-seven minutes your inner critic will hold a full tribunal in which you are the defendant, the prosecutor and the court stenographer.
Tonight, with Mars and Jupiter hiding in your sector of secrets, you'll lie awake auditing every text you've sent since 2019. You'll find four more. Your assignment: tomorrow, leave one typo in a message on purpose and do not fix it. Let it live. It isn't a moral failing. It's an apostrophe.
DO
- Leave one typo alive
- Send 'sounds good' unpunctuated
- Let Theo stay confused
DON'T
- Send the correction
- Audit texts from 2019
- Footnote Theo's question mark
Label tape runs out tonight.
Your label tape runs out at 7:15 with one orange jar left, and you'll still be holding it at 11:40.
At 6:15 the label maker arrives, and by 7:00 even the label maker says 'LABEL MAKER.' At 7:15 the tape runs out with one jar left: something orange, paprika or cayenne, and you won't taste it, because tasting is guessing. At 9:30 a friend suggests Sharpie. Today's order: leave the orange jar naked until Tuesday.
DO
- Order double tape
- Leave the jar unlabeled
- Ignore the Sharpie suggestion
DON'T
- Taste the orange jar
- Label the empty cartridge
- Label yourself 'FINE'
An unexpected windfall: at 6:15 the label maker you ordered in a fit of clarity finally arrives. You, laminate-everything, alphabetize-the-alphabet Virgo, will label the spice rack, the pantry, the junk drawer (now 'MISCELLANEOUS, SORTED'), the remote, and the shelf the remote lives on. By 7:00 the label maker itself will wear a label that says 'LABEL MAKER.'
At 7:15 the tape runs out. There will be one jar left: a small, unmarked jar of something orange that could be paprika or could be cayenne, and you will not know, and you will not taste it, because tasting is guessing. A stranger will not help you. The store that sells the tape closed at 7:00. It always did.
A Gemini figures prominently: at 9:30 a friend will text 'just write it in Sharpie lol,' and you will place your phone face-down like a dead bird. Romance is in the air, but you won't notice, because at 11:40 you'll still be holding the orange jar under the kitchen light. Today's order: leave the orange jar naked until Tuesday. Lucky number: 1. Lucky color: probably paprika.
DO
- Order double tape
- Leave the jar unlabeled
- Ignore the Sharpie suggestion
DON'T
- Taste the orange jar
- Label the empty cartridge
- Label yourself 'FINE'

Libra BIRTHDAY SEASON
You'll wear a felt crown.
You send the birthday group a shortlist of nine, and they book the restaurant with the felt crowns.
The Sun in your sign sextiles Jupiter in your 11th house of friends, so your people plan your birthday dinner and ask you to pick. You send a shortlist of nine at 4:00; at 4:01 they book Big Barney's Rib Barn, where the staff clap in a ring and crown you in felt. At dessert, point at anything, or they bring the second crown.
DO
- Point at any dessert
- Wear the crown crooked
- Choose the first outfit
DON'T
- Send a shortlist of nine
- Ask what everyone's getting
- Ask to see other crowns
Happy birthday season, scale-balancing, menu-paralyzed Libra. The Sun is in your sign, sextile Jupiter, and Jupiter sits with Mars in your 11th house of friends, which means your people are planning something big for you and have made the fatal mistake of asking you where. At noon the group chat will ask you to pick. At 4:00 you will send a shortlist of nine. At 4:01 Marisol will reply 'cool, we booked Big Barney's Rib Barn,' where the staff clap in a ring and crown you in felt.
Your ruler Venus is retrograde in Scorpio in your 2nd house of self-worth, squaring Pluto, so you'll spend the hour before dinner trying on four outfits to be humiliated in, then wear the first. Saturn retrograde in your 7th hands the evening to whoever sits across from you; they'll tell the server it's your birthday before your coat is off.
At 8:20 the lights will dim, the staff will form a ring, and someone will set the felt crown on your head at an angle you cannot fix. Then you will be asked to pick a dessert. Do not hesitate. Point at anything. If you so much as open your mouth to say 'what's everyone else getting,' they bring out the second crown.
DO
- Point at any dessert
- Wear the crown crooked
- Choose the first outfit
DON'T
- Send a shortlist of nine
- Ask what everyone's getting
- Ask to see other crowns
Both friends will compare screenshots.
Two friends fight at noon, you privately agree with both, and at 7:00 they compare screenshots.
With Mars and Jupiter crowding your friendship sector, Jess and Marco fight over a Venmo request at noon and both DM you by 12:15. You tell each one they're completely right and type 'honestly, valid' twice. At 7:00 they make up, compare screenshots, and bond over being mad at you. Your assignment: tomorrow, pick a side. Any side. Do not walk it back.
DO
- Pick one side
- Keep the pillow you love
- Say something disagreeable aloud
DON'T
- Type 'honestly, valid'
- Return the throw pillow
- Ask both which side you're on
The material today: dithering, reverse-gear Venus, your ruler, is retrograde in your money sector, so at 10:20 you'll return a throw pillow you love because the cashier seemed to prefer the other one. In session I'd ask whose preference that was. You'll say 'everyone's.' That answer is the whole file.
At noon, with Mars and Jupiter crowding your friendship sector, Jess and Marco will fight about a Venmo request, and each will DM you by 12:15. You'll tell Jess she's completely right. You'll tell Marco he's completely right. You'll type 'honestly, valid' to both. At 7:00 they'll make up, compare screenshots, and form a brand-new friendship whose only shared value is being mad at you.
It's your season, the Sun is in your sign and the spotlight is on, which is shit timing, because by 9:00 you'll be the sole topic of a two-person chat titled 're: you.' Your assignment: tomorrow, pick a side. Any side. Then say one sentence someone could disagree with, out loud, and do not walk it back.
DO
- Pick one side
- Keep the pillow you love
- Say something disagreeable aloud
DON'T
- Type 'honestly, valid'
- Return the throw pillow
- Ask both which side you're on
Clerk picks your wall color.
You spend five hours choosing between three identical whites until Ray the clerk picks Swan Wing for you.
At 4:00 you walk into the hardware store for one paint sample and face 'Swan Wing,' 'Whispered Linen' and 'Ghost of Cream,' which are the same color. At 6:30 you ask a man buying a toilet flapper which one feels like a Sunday. At 8:55 a clerk named Ray picks for you. Today's order: let Ray win.
DO
- Let Ray win
- Grab the first chip
- Paint before reconsidering
DON'T
- Poll the toilet-flapper guy
- Check your forearm lighting
- Ask Ray if he's sure
Happy birthday season, Libra. The universe has a gift for you, and the gift is a choice, which is the cruelest thing anyone has ever handed you. At 4:00 you will walk into the hardware store for one paint sample. The wall is in a bathroom. The bathroom is small. The options are 'Swan Wing,' 'Whispered Linen' and 'Ghost of Cream,' and they are the same color.
You, eternally-weighing, both-hands-out Libra, will hold the chips up to the fluorescent light, then the window light, then your own forearm. At 6:30 you will ask a stranger in the aisle which one feels more 'like a Sunday.' He came in for a toilet flapper. He will answer you. You will not take his answer.
At 8:55, five minutes before close, a clerk named Ray will take the chips out of your hand, say 'Swan Wing, final answer,' and ring it up. Romance is in the air, and it's Ray. Compatibility: high with anyone willing to decide for you, which is exactly how you got here. Today's order: let Ray win. Lucky number: 3. Lucky color: whatever Ray says.
DO
- Let Ray win
- Grab the first chip
- Paint before reconsidering
DON'T
- Poll the toilet-flapper guy
- Check your forearm lighting
- Ask Ray if he's sure

Scorpio
Screen-share reveals your revenge list.
At 3:00 your screen share reveals a note titled 'LONG GAME,' and the presenter is third on it.
The Moon, Mercury and retrograde Venus crowd your 1st house while Mars and Jupiter blow up your 10th house of career, so at 3:00, during the quarterly review screen share, everyone will see a note titled 'LONG GAME' with seven names on it. Third is the person presenting. Rename the file 'Gratitude.' Do not move number three to number one while they're watching.
DO
- Close every tab before 3:00
- Rename the file 'Gratitude'
- Smile like it's a joke
DON'T
- Explain the order
- Add a name mid-call
- Move number three up live
Brooding, dossier-keeping Scorpio, the Moon, Mercury and retrograde Venus are all sitting in your 1st house, the most attention the sky has paid you in months, while Mars and Jupiter crowd your 10th house of career and make the stage enormous. At 3:00 you will share your screen in the quarterly review and, for eleven full seconds, everyone on the call will see a note titled 'LONG GAME' with seven names on it, in order. Third is the person currently presenting.
Your ruler Pluto is retrograde in Aquarius in your 4th house of home and the past, sextile Neptune, so at 6:30 someone from high school will like a photo of yours from 2011, and you will recognize the name from an older, longer list. You will update both documents from the car.
The Moon fused to Mercury in your own sign means feelings and words leave your face at the same time, so the slow, knowing smile you rehearsed for exactly this kind of disaster will not hold. Saturn retrograde in your 6th house will have IT asking about 'the document' before you log off. Rename the file 'Gratitude.' Change nothing else. And do not move number three to number one while they're watching.
DO
- Close every tab before 3:00
- Rename the file 'Gratitude'
- Smile like it's a joke
DON'T
- Explain the order
- Add a name mid-call
- Move number three up live
You'll like a 2015 photo.
At 1:07 you double-tap a 2015 wedding photo deep in the new hire's Instagram, and unliking it won't help.
With the Moon, Mercury and Venus crowding your sign, a new hire named Brooke says good morning at 9:40 and you log it as an opening move. By 1:07 you're eleven years deep in her Instagram and your thumb double-taps her cousin's 2015 bouquet toss in Tulsa. Unliking it won't help. Your assignment: when Brooke mentions it tomorrow, say 'yes.' No cover story.
DO
- Say 'yes' to Brooke
- Phone face-down by noon
- Admit there's no friend
DON'T
- Scroll past the dog
- Unlike it at 1:07
- Make a burner to apologize
The material today: the Moon, Mercury and Venus are all in your sign, the Moon a 4% sliver barely lit, which is how you like your rooms. Expect the urge to know everything about everyone while revealing nothing. Clinically, guarded. You'll call it 'being careful.' At 9:40 a new hire named Brooke will say good morning, and you will log it as an opening move.
By 1:00, with Mars and Jupiter in your career sector supplying what you'll describe as initiative, you'll be eleven years deep in Brooke's Instagram, past the dog, past the half marathon, into a 2015 wedding in Tulsa. At 1:07 your thumb will double-tap her cousin's bouquet toss. You'll unlike it at 1:07 and a half. It's too late. It was always going to be too late.
Tonight paranoid landlord Pluto, your ruler, backs through your family sector, so you'll explain the whole thing to the family group chat as a hypothetical about 'a friend.' Nobody will believe there is a friend. Your assignment: tomorrow, when Brooke says 'I saw you liked my cousin's wedding,' say 'yes.' Just yes. No cover story. Find out what being known feels like.
DO
- Say 'yes' to Brooke
- Phone face-down by noon
- Admit there's no friend
DON'T
- Scroll past the dog
- Unlike it at 1:07
- Make a burner to apologize
Your nemesis will apologize sincerely.
Brian, your nemesis since the 2019 fish incident, apologizes sincerely at 3:30, and your whole personality collapses.
At 3:30 Brian from accounts, your nemesis since he microwaved fish at the 2019 holiday party, apologizes. Sincerely. With eye contact. The grudge was load-bearing, and by 5:00 you realize seven years of hatred were about one fish. By 9:20 the crooked-parking neighbor starts looking promising. Today's order: accept Brian's apology and hate it quietly.
DO
- Accept the apology
- Hate it quietly
- Audition the crooked parker
DON'T
- Forgive Brian internally
- Grudge the elevator stranger
- Microwave fish to restart it
The Moon is in your sign, which the tabloids say means 'old wounds heal.' Brace yourself. At 3:30 Brian from accounts, the man you have hated with silent, laminated precision since he microwaved fish at the 2019 holiday party, will stop at your desk and apologize. Sincerely. With eye contact. He will say he's been 'working on himself.'
You, grudge-curating, never-forget Scorpio, will feel the floor drop. That grudge was load-bearing. By 5:00 you will have replayed the whole saga in your head and discovered it is entirely about fish. Seven years, one fish. A stranger will smile at you in the elevator, and you will instinctively begin a new grudge out of muscle memory.
Romance is in the air, but you'll spend the evening on the couch hunting for a new nemesis like a dog looking for a dropped sandwich. A Leo figures prominently: your neighbor, who parks crooked, will start looking like a promising candidate around 9:20. Compatibility: low with forgiveness, high with anyone who has ever wronged you, which is everyone. Today's order: accept Brian's apology and hate it quietly. Lucky number: 7. Lucky color: microwaved-salmon pink.
DO
- Accept the apology
- Hate it quietly
- Audition the crooked parker
DON'T
- Forgive Brian internally
- Grudge the elevator stranger
- Microwave fish to restart it

Sagittarius
Sandwich run ends at airport.
You step out for a sandwich at 1:30 and are found at 4:05 under the airport departures board.
Jupiter, your ruler, sits with Mars in your 9th house of long journeys, so the sandwich you step out for at 1:30 will be in your hand at 4:05 under the airport departures board, no ticket, strong opinions about Lisbon. Your coworkers will find you through your own story. Eat the sandwich, go back to the office, and do not ask the ticket counter what's leaving soon.
DO
- Eat the sandwich
- Return to the office
- Bring the Cinnabon to dinner
DON'T
- Use airplane mode on the ground
- Mention Lisbon at dinner
- Ask what's leaving soon
Already-halfway-out-the-door Sagittarius, your ruler Jupiter is in Leo in your 9th house of long journeys, with Mars sitting right on top of it, and the Sun sextiles Jupiter like a travel agent with no ethics. At 1:30 you will tell your team you're stepping out for a sandwich. At 4:05 a coworker will find you, via your own story, at the airport, under the departures board, holding the sandwich. You will not have a ticket. You will have strong opinions about Lisbon.
With the Moon, Mercury and retrograde Venus all hiding in your 12th house of secrets, you will put your phone on airplane mode without boarding an airplane, which is the most Sagittarius thing that has ever happened at the Terminal B curb.
Saturn retrograde in your 5th house of romance means the 7:30 dinner you agreed to last Tuesday will remember you, even though you won't remember it. You will arrive at 8:50 carrying an airport Cinnabon as an apology. Eat the sandwich. Go back to the office. And do not, under any circumstances, ask the ticket counter what's leaving soon.
DO
- Eat the sandwich
- Return to the office
- Bring the Cinnabon to dinner
DON'T
- Use airplane mode on the ground
- Mention Lisbon at dinner
- Ask what's leaving soon
Tasha's tattoo costs you lunch.
At 11:45 you tell Tasha her new tattoo looks like Ohio weather, and lunch arrives as two bills.
Biggest-guy-at-the-hostel Jupiter has you convinced your first thought is a personality, so at 11:45, on the way to a lunch Tasha offered to pay for, she shows you her new tattoo and you say it looks like a weather map of Ohio. 'Like, a cool front.' The bill arrives as two bills. Your assignment: tomorrow, say 'wow' and stop talking.
DO
- Say 'wow' and stop
- Pay for your own lunch
- Let the copier guy work
DON'T
- Mention the cool front
- Explain stoicism before noon
- Offer to redraw Ohio
The material today: biggest-guy-at-the-hostel Jupiter, your ruler, is in your sector of big beliefs with Mars riding shotgun, which supports your conviction that saying the first thing in your head counts as a personality. At 9:20 you'll explain stoicism to the man fixing the copier. He'll nod the way people nod at a street preacher.
At 11:45, on the walk to a lunch Tasha offered to pay for, she'll roll up her sleeve to show you her new tattoo, and before your filter clocks in you'll say it looks like a weather map of Ohio. You'll mean it as a compliment. You'll add, 'like, a cool front.' The bill will arrive at 12:40 as two bills.
With the Moon, Mercury and Venus hiding in your sector of secrets, the thing you're avoiding this afternoon is that you've been calling bluntness 'authenticity' since roughly the day you learned the word. At 4:00 you'll replay the Ohio line and decide it was brave. Your assignment: tomorrow, when someone shows you anything, a tattoo, a baby, a sourdough, say 'wow' and stop talking. A second syllable is a lecture.
DO
- Say 'wow' and stop
- Pay for your own lunch
- Let the copier guy work
DON'T
- Mention the cool front
- Explain stoicism before noon
- Offer to redraw Ohio
Coworker's fern will trap you.
Priya asks you to water her fern for one week, and by 3:00 you've proposed joint custody to an intern.
At 9:10 Priya asks you to water her Boston fern, Dennis, every day for a week, and the office walls move six inches inward. By 11:00 you've googled 'can ferns live alone.' At 3:00 you try to hand Dennis to an intern like a custody arrangement. Today's order: water Dennis, and stay in the building while you do it.
DO
- Water Dennis once
- Stay in the building
- Read the sticky note
DON'T
- Drown Dennis out of guilt
- Delegate a fern
- Google houseplant exit strategies
A commitment will enter your life today. It is a fern. At 9:10 Priya from the next desk will ask you to water her Boston fern, Dennis, every day for one week while she's at her sister's wedding. You, door-adjacent, never-fully-unpacked Sagittarius, will say 'totally,' and feel the office walls move six inches inward.
By 11:00 you will have googled 'can ferns live alone,' 'fern independence' and 'how long can a plant hold its breath.' At 1:15 you will water Dennis for the first time, far too much, out of guilt. At 3:00 you will try to hand Dennis off to an intern, who will look at you like you've proposed a custody arrangement, which you have.
Romance is in the air, and you'll mistake it for a draft and leave. Avoid signing contracts: Priya will hand you a sticky note with a watering schedule, and you will read it like it's a thirty-year mortgage. Compatibility: high with exits, nonexistent with anything that needs you on Thursday. Today's order: water Dennis, and stay in the building while you do it. Lucky number: 168. Lucky color: overwatered-fern yellow.
DO
- Water Dennis once
- Stay in the building
- Read the sticky note
DON'T
- Drown Dennis out of guilt
- Delegate a fern

Capricorn
Trivia night receives your agenda.
The group chat suggests trivia at 5:45, and at 5:46 you send everyone a calendar invite with a pre-read.
The Moon, Mercury and retrograde Venus crowd your 11th house of friends, so when the group chat asks 'trivia tonight?' at 5:45, you'll send a calendar invite titled 'Trivia: Q4 Alignment' with a pre-read. Saturn, your ruler, is retrograde in your 4th, so you'll sort the junk drawer by fiscal year first. Answer the boy-band question. Do not send 'Trivia: Next Steps.'
DO
- Answer the boy-band question
- Close the laptop at 9:30
- Let someone else hold the pen
DON'T
- Attach a pre-read
- Block 9:30 as 'Personal'
- Send 'Trivia: Next Steps'
Corner-office-in-spirit, out-of-office-never Capricorn, the Moon, Mercury and retrograde Venus are clustered in your 11th house of friends today, which means your friends will reach for you, and you will reach for Outlook. At 5:45 the group chat will ask 'trivia tonight?' At 5:46 you will send a calendar invite titled 'Trivia: Q4 Alignment,' with a pre-read, a dial-in nobody needs, and the agenda item 'Roles and Responsibilities (Sports Category).'
Your ruler Saturn is retrograde in Aries in your 4th house of home and the past, the old taskmaster walking backward through your living room, so before you leave you will reorganize the junk drawer by fiscal year. Mars trines Saturn, so you'll finish, and you'll label it.
Mars and Jupiter in your 8th house stir up something like intimacy, so at 9:30, at the bar, you will feel something dangerously close to fun and immediately block 9:30 to 9:45 as 'Personal.' Your team will lose on a 1990s boy-band question you could have answered if you hadn't been taking minutes. Answer the question. Close the laptop. And do not send a follow-up titled 'Trivia: Next Steps.'
DO
- Answer the boy-band question
- Close the laptop at 9:30
- Let someone else hold the pen
DON'T
- Attach a pre-read
- Block 9:30 as 'Personal'
- Send 'Trivia: Next Steps'
You'll answer kindness with 'Noted.'
At 2:20 Nadia texts that she's proud of you, and after nine minutes you reply 'Noted.'
Cosmic middle manager Saturn is walking backward through your home sector, and at 2:20 Nadia texts, unprompted, that she's really proud of you. You'll stare at it for nine minutes like a phishing email, type 'Noted,' then add 'Thanks for the feedback.' Your assignment: tomorrow, text Nadia three words that aren't a receipt. 'Proud of you' counts. 'Received with thanks' does not.
DO
- Text Nadia three warm words
- Delete the follow-up spreadsheet
- Fold the towels gently
DON'T
- Type 'Noted'
- Thank her for the feedback
- Schedule a quarterly compliment review
The material today: cosmic middle manager Saturn, your ruler, is walking backward through your home sector, which clinically means your inner child is still waiting on a performance review scheduled in 1998. At 6:30 a.m. you'll fold towels in a manner best described as either 'efficient' or 'furious.' Both are correct. Both are you.
At 2:20, with the Moon, Mercury and Venus all crammed into your friendship sector, Nadia will text you, unprompted: 'hey just wanted to say I'm really proud of you.' You'll stare at it for nine minutes like it's a phishing email. Then you'll type 'Noted.' Then, panicking, 'Thanks for the feedback.'
Tonight Mars trines your ruler and hands you the energy to do something with the feeling, so you'll do the only thing you know: open a spreadsheet called 'Nadia, follow-up' and give the compliment its own row, its own column, and a due date. Your assignment: tomorrow, text Nadia three words that aren't a receipt. 'Proud of you' counts. 'Received with thanks' does not.
DO
- Text Nadia three warm words
- Delete the follow-up spreadsheet
- Fold the towels gently
DON'T
- Type 'Noted'
- Thank her for the feedback
- Schedule a quarterly compliment review
Office Wi-Fi dies at ten.
The office Wi-Fi dies at 10:00, and by 10:20 you've discovered you have absolutely no hobbies.
At 10:00 sharp the office Wi-Fi dies, everyone else cheers, and you refresh a dead page thirty-one times. At 10:20 you discover you have no hobbies. A stranger from Marketing invites you to cornhole and you ask about the deliverable. You'll log the whole outage as 'strategic reflection.' Today's order: throw one beanbag at the cornhole board.
DO
- Throw one beanbag
- Leave the supply closet
- Go to the break room
DON'T
- Refresh the dead page
- Ask about deliverables
- Bill your feelings to strategy
An unexpected disruption will strike the workplace, and you will take it personally. At 10:00 sharp the office Wi-Fi dies. IT estimates 'a few hours.' Everyone else will cheer and wander to the break room. You, color-coded, blazer-on-a-Sunday Capricorn, will sit perfectly still for nine minutes and refresh a page that isn't loading thirty-one times.
At 10:20 you will realize you have no hobbies. The tabloids call this 'a chance for self-discovery.' You will discover nothing. You'll take a walk at 11:00 and time it. You'll alphabetize the supply closet, then re-alphabetize it by vendor. A stranger from Marketing will invite you to play cornhole, and you will ask what the deliverable is.
A Pisces figures prominently: she'll find you at 1:45 handwriting emails on a legal pad to send later. Romance is in the air; you will try to push it to Q2. At 2:00 the Wi-Fi returns and you will exhale like a diver surfacing, then log the four hours as 'strategic reflection.' Today's order: throw one beanbag at the cornhole board. Lucky number: 31. Lucky color: loading-wheel gray.
DO
- Throw one beanbag
- Leave the supply closet
- Go to the break room
DON'T
- Refresh the dead page

Aquarius
The intern will correct you.
Your 2:00 podcast explanation gets corrected at 2:14 by the intern, who has the timestamps.
The Moon and Mercury fuse in your 10th house of career, so at 2:00, in a budget meeting, you'll start explaining a three-hour podcast about how cities are actually fungus. Mars in your 7th opposes Pluto in your sign, and at 2:14 Priya the intern says 'episode 212, and you've got it backwards,' with timestamps. Concede by noon tomorrow. Do not start a podcast to respond.
DO
- Concede by noon tomorrow
- Let Priya finish
DON'T
- Say 'there's this podcast'
- Relisten at 1 a.m.
- Launch a rebuttal podcast
Unsubscribe-proof, three-steps-ahead-of-everyone Aquarius, the Moon and Mercury are fused in your 10th house of career with retrograde Venus close behind, which means your mouth will be on the clock today. At 2:00, eleven minutes into a budget meeting, you will say 'so there's this podcast' and begin explaining a three-hour episode about how cities are actually a fungus. Nobody will stop you. That's the trap.
Mars and Jupiter sit in your 7th house of partners and open enemies, opposing Pluto retrograde in your own sign, and at 2:14 that opposition will take human form: Priya, the intern, will say 'that's episode 212, and you've got the fungus part backwards.' She will have timestamps. She will have two.
Your ruler Uranus is retrograde in Gemini in your 5th house, trining Pluto, so tonight you will relisten to all three hours to prove her wrong, and she will be right at 1:47:30. Saturn retrograde in your 3rd means nobody you text about it will answer, and honestly, good for them. Concede by noon tomorrow. And do not start your own podcast to respond.
DO
- Concede by noon tomorrow
- Let Priya finish
DON'T
- Say 'there's this podcast'
- Relisten at 1 a.m.
- Launch a rebuttal podcast
Your icebreaker will be octopuses.
At 10:04 the icebreaker asks for a fact about you, and you confess octopuses have three hearts.
With the Moon, Mercury and Venus clustered in your career sector, the 10:04 icebreaker asks for one fun fact about yourself, and you announce that octopuses have three hearts. Gary asks, kindly, 'okay, but about you?' You add that one heart stops when it swims. You've just told eleven coworkers your feelings using a mollusk. Your assignment: tomorrow, tell Gary one true thing without tentacles.
DO
- Tell Gary one true thing
- Open the octopus cam link
- Stay for the connection round
DON'T
- Mention the stopping heart
- Call Gary's link invasive
- Bring a squid as backup
The material today: the Moon, Mercury and Venus are clustered in your career sector, so the theme is visibility, which is unfortunate, because your whole defense structure is built around being seen as interesting without being seen at all. At 9:15 a manager will add a 'connection round' to the 10:00 meeting, and you'll feel it the way other people feel a draft.
At 10:04 the icebreaker will be 'one fun fact about yourself,' and when it reaches you, you'll announce that octopuses have three hearts. Silence. A guy named Gary will ask, kindly, 'okay, but about you?' and you'll add that one of the hearts stops when it swims. Clinically, that's intellectualization. Plainly, you just told eleven coworkers how you feel using a mollusk.
Nosy, transformation-obsessed Pluto is camped in your sign, so the universe is unusually invested in your growth, which you'll experience as invasive. At 6:00 Gary will DM you a link to the aquarium's octopus cam with 'thought of you.' You'll read it as a threat to your independence. Your assignment: tomorrow, tell Gary one true thing about yourself that doesn't have tentacles.
DO
- Tell Gary one true thing
- Open the octopus cam link
- Stay for the connection round
DON'T
- Mention the stopping heart
- Call Gary's link invasive
- Bring a squid as backup
Minivan ad steals your band.
At 8:41 a minivan commercial plays your obscure Icelandic band, and forty thousand soccer parents steal them by 9:00.
At 8:41 tonight a minivan commercial during Monday Night Football opens with Hvalur, the Icelandic band you found on a forum in 2014. By 8:45 three people text 'isn't this your weird band?' By 9:00 it has forty thousand new listeners, all with minivans. A Gemini calls it 'that car song.' Today's order: let the minivan have them.
DO
- Let the minivan have them
- Answer the texts gracefully
- Find a worse band
DON'T
- Refuse to say the name
- Correct the 'car song' Gemini
- Hiss at minivans in traffic
Something you love will be discovered today, and it will ruin you. At 8:41 tonight, during Monday Night Football, a minivan commercial will open on a family loading groceries to the hushed, reverb-soaked sound of Hvalur, the Icelandic band you found on a forum in 2014. You, contrarian, liked-it-before-it-existed Aquarius, will hear it from the next room and drop a fork.
By 8:45 three people will text you the clip with 'isn't this your weird band?' By 9:00 the song will have forty thousand new monthly listeners, every one of them with a minivan and a soccer schedule. A stranger at the grocery store will hum it near you on Thursday, and you are already bracing for it, tonight, in advance.
Romance is in the air, and you'll ruin it by refusing to say the band's name out loud, as a protest. A Gemini figures prominently: they'll say 'oh, I love that car song.' Compatibility: low with anyone who drives a minivan, which by Friday is everyone. Today's order: let the minivan have them. Lucky number: 2014. Lucky color: minivan silver.
DO
- Let the minivan have them
- Answer the texts gracefully
- Find a worse band
DON'T
- Refuse to say the name
- Correct the 'car song' Gemini
- Hiss at minivans in traffic

Pisces
You'll miss your stop. Twice.
A pigeon sends you six stops past yours at 8:10, and a puddle makes you miss it again tonight.
The Moon and Mercury fuse in your 9th house of long journeys, so at 8:10 a pigeon on a bus shelter becomes a metaphor for your life and you ride six stops past yours. At 6:20, Mars trining your ruler Neptune, you'll cry at the rainbow in a parking-lot puddle and miss the stop again. Get off wherever. Walk back. Do not name the pigeon.
DO
- Get off wherever it stops
- Check your hand for the earbud
- Walk back slowly
DON'T
- Watch the pigeon
- Make eye contact with puddles
- Name the pigeon
Damp-eyed, half-submerged Pisces, the Moon and Mercury are fused in Scorpio in your 9th house of long journeys and big beliefs, which is how a twelve-minute bus ride becomes a pilgrimage. At 8:10 you will watch a pigeon walk across a bus shelter roof, decide it's a metaphor for your entire life, and ride six stops past your own. Mars and Jupiter in your 6th house of the daily grind will make you thirty-five minutes late and weirdly at peace about it.
Your ruler, fog-machine Neptune, is retrograde in Aries in your 2nd house of possessions, with Saturn retrograde parked right beside it, so sometime before lunch your left earbud will simply leave this plane. You'll search your bag four times. It will be in your hand.
On the ride home at 6:20 the low sun will hit an oil slick in a parking-lot puddle, Mars trining Neptune, and you will cry at the rainbow in it. Not sad crying. The other kind, the kind that makes the person beside you quietly change seats. Then you'll miss your stop again. Get off wherever the bus stops. Walk back. And do not name the pigeon.
DO
- Get off wherever it stops
- Check your hand for the earbud
- Walk back slowly
DON'T
- Watch the pigeon
- Make eye contact with puddles
- Name the pigeon
A mattress follows you home.
At 5:30 you enter a mattress store for the bathroom and leave owning Rob's feelings and a king.
Foggy, backstroking Neptune is retrograde in your money sector, so at 5:30 you duck into a mattress store just to use the bathroom. A salesman named Rob mentions he hasn't made a sale since Thursday, and by 7:10 you've signed for a $1,400 king. Your bed frame is a full. Your assignment: tomorrow, say 'that sounds hard' and keep both hands in your pockets. Rob has a lake house.
DO
- Say 'that sounds hard'
- Keep both hands pocketed
- Pee at the library instead
DON'T
- Finish the sigher's spreadsheet
- Ask Rob about Thursday
- Visit Rob's lake house
The material today: Mars and Jupiter are both in your daily-grind sector, so at 11:00 a coworker will sigh near your desk and by 11:05 you'll be doing his spreadsheet, having absorbed his mood the way a paper towel absorbs a spill it didn't cause. Clinically, your boundaries are less a fence than a suggestion painted on fog.
Foggy, backstroking Neptune, your ruler, is retrograde in your money sector right beside Saturn's audit department, which is the material for 5:30, when you'll duck into a mattress store just to use the bathroom. A salesman named Rob will mention that he hasn't made a sale since Thursday. By 7:10 you'll have signed for a $1,400 king-size mattress, and your bed frame is a full.
Tonight you'll lie awake feeling Rob's quota as if it were your own childhood. Your assignment: tomorrow, when anyone tells you a sad thing, say 'that sounds hard' and keep both hands in your pockets. Your wallet is not a hug. And Rob is fine, sweetheart. Rob has a goddamn lake house.
DO
- Say 'that sounds hard'
- Keep both hands pocketed
- Pee at the library instead
DON'T
- Finish the sigher's spreadsheet
- Ask Rob about Thursday
- Visit Rob's lake house
Door-holder becomes your imaginary spouse.
A peacoat stranger holds the library door at 9:15, and by 1:00 your imaginary marriage to him is over.
At 9:15 a stranger in a navy peacoat holds the library door, and by 9:16 you've named your imaginary kids Juniper, Wren and Dale. By 11:30 the imaginary marriage is in trouble over Thanksgiving. At 5:40 he holds the door again and doesn't recognize you. Today's order: walk through the door like it's just a door.
DO
- Walk through like it's a door
- Say thank you, only
- Leave Dale unnamed
DON'T
- Plan the barn wedding
- Write a poem called 'Peacoat'
- Grieve a man named Theo
Romance is in the air, and you will inhale all of it. At 9:15 a stranger in a navy peacoat will hold the library door for you, and by 9:16, dreamy, fully-submerged Pisces, you'll have named your three imaginary children Juniper, Wren and, for reasons, Dale, and adopted a three-legged greyhound in your head.
At your desk you will spend the morning not working and instead planning the imaginary wedding: a barn, fairy lights, his aunt cries. At 11:30 the imaginary marriage will hit a rough patch over where to spend imaginary Thanksgiving. At 1:00 you will imaginary-separate. At 1:05 you will cry in the stairwell over a man whose name you have decided is Theo.
At 5:40 he will hold the door again, on your way out, and not recognize you at all. A Cancer figures prominently: she'll ask why you're writing a poem titled 'Peacoat' at the bus stop. Compatibility: high with doors, devastatingly high with anyone holding one. Today's order: walk through the door like it's just a door. Lucky number: 0. Lucky color: peacoat navy.
DO
- Walk through like it's a door
- Say thank you, only
- Leave Dale unnamed
DON'T
- Plan the barn wedding
- Write a poem called 'Peacoat'
- Grieve a man named Theo

HOW THE SAUSAGE IS MADE The astrology is real. The astrologer is a bean.
THE SKY IS COMPUTED, NOT VIBED. Every morning, before you are conscious, a machine runs the Swiss Ephemeris. That is the planetary engine behind most serious astrology software, built on the same orbital math astronomers use, which the astronomers would like you to stop bringing up. It fixes the Sun, the Moon, Mercury through Pluto and the Moon's North Node at 17:00 UTC, lunchtime on the East Coast, in the tropical zodiac, as seen from Earth. The positions are good to about an arcsecond. A horoscope needs about a degree. We brought a surgical laser to a pie fight.
RETROGRADES ARE MEASURED. A planet is retrograde here because its computed speed is negative today, not because someone on your feed said Mercury was "doing something." When the chips at the top say nothing is retrograde, nothing is. Astrologers find that suspicious. So do we.
THE MOON GETS THE FULL TREATMENT. Phase and percent lit, from the real angle between the Sun and the Moon. Which sign she is in, and if she changes sign today, the minute she does it. This is more attention than the Moon has ever gotten from you.
THE ASPECTS ARE THE CLASSICAL FIVE. Conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition: Ptolemy's set, the one every astrologer has used since the second century. We allow six degrees of orb, four for the sextile, which is a weak aspect and knows it. That is tighter than a birth chart, because a daily column only cares what is happening today. They are listed tightest first in the panel above, so you can check the work. You won't.
THE HOUSES ARE WHOLE-SIGN, COUNTED FROM YOUR SUN SIGN. This is the solar-chart trick, and it is how every newspaper horoscope since the 1930s has faked a birth chart for a million strangers at once. Your sign is the first house, the next sign is the second, and so on around the wheel. So when the Classical says Venus is retrograde in your seventh house, that is arithmetic: Venus is in that sign, that sign is seven signs from yours, and the seventh house is partners and enemies, a distinction your sign has never managed. Each sign also carries its element, its modality and its ruling planet, the furniture the genre has used for two thousand years, with the modern rulers. Pluto rules Scorpio. Scorpio chose that itself.
THEN THE BEAN READS IT. The sky goes to Roastie as a written report and he works from it, under the one rule a real columnist is supposed to follow and rarely does: use the sky that is there. Never invent a planet, a transit or a retrograde that isn't. He may leave things out. He may not make things up. The Classical has to be correct to the report, naming the planets, houses and aspects in play for your sign that day. The Psychological takes one planet or the Moon as the material we're working with. The Tabloid barely looks up, which is the point: it is a parody of the checkout-aisle column, and the checkout-aisle column never looked up either.
ONE FATE, FOUR SIZES. He writes the Full Beating for each sign first, then cuts the Jab, the One-Liner, Five Words and the Do / Don't from it. Switching the dose opens the same prophecy up or down. It never changes what happens to you. Nothing changes what happens to you.
WHAT IT ISN'T. A birth chart. This is a sun-sign column, same as the one in the paper: no birth time, no rising sign, no natal anything. It knows your sign and the sky and nothing else, which is still more than your family knows. Whether any of it means anything is a separate question, and the same one you should have been asking your regular horoscope. The difference is that here the math is in the open. Check it against any ephemeris you like. The positions will match. The interpretation is where we part ways with the universe.
Not advice. Not anything you can sue over. The planets are real (Swiss Ephemeris); the interpretation is a bean with a grudge. How it's built. The Classical · The Psychological · The Tabloid written Monday, October 12, 2026.
